The Youth & Family Services Work Ready Program teaches the necessary skills and provides support to strengthen low-income families and improve their financial stability through work readiness activities and employment. The Employment and Job Coach role is responsible for identifying and developing meaningful partnerships with businesses and employers and coaching participants to employment success using goal-directed strategies. This role will support the management of job fairs and participants’ remote work requirements.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

•Use a variety of relationship-building, marketing, and communication techniques to market and represent the WRO program

•Initiate and manage ongoing contacts with a variety of business and industry representatives, as well as job placement/training agencies, to promote participant placement

•Engage employers and local education partners in the design and execution of training programs, as appropriate, to ensure participants are equipped with relevant, industry-required skills and certifications

•Conduct follow-up with both employers and participants after applicants are placed to ensure employer satisfaction, future partnership opportunities, and employee retention

•Organize outreach and recruitment activities, engaging with other team members to participate as needed

•Help program participants understand the concept of career ladders, utilizing current employment and training opportunities to increase their marketability, earnings, and job satisfaction

•Monitor local labor market trends and employment opportunities in both the public and private sectors

•Build a network of employers that understand the value of WRO services in supporting a range of business objectives for Oklahoma employers

•Report participant information, progress, and business and referral data

Minimum Qualifications include:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or other related field preferred, at least three (3) years of experience in recruitment, outreach, or workforce development, and experience with outreach, sales, or job placement.

Salary: $37,000 to $42,000/year

Youth & Family Services in El Reno, Oklahoma is looking for a full-time or part-time Youth Care Specialist to work in our Emergency Children’s Shelter that serves abused and homeless children ages 0-18. We are a fast-growing nonprofit organization who works to provide support for children, youth, and families in our community. Our Emergency Children’s Shelter runs 24 hours a day/365 days a year.

We are in need of a second shift employee who is willing to work the 4 pm to midnight shift and an third shift employee who is willing to work the midnight to 8 am shift.

Duties include but are not limited to providing care and supervision to children/youth in our shelter, providing nutritious meals and snacks for children/youth, interacting with children/youth and following a daily schedule, keeping logs and paperwork up-to-date, and periodically assisting in recreational trips for children/youth.

*We offer overtime pay at time and a half for those working full-time and holiday pay at double time for all employees who work during our allotted holidays.

Youth & Family Services is looking for a Community Education Specialist to serve as a member of our Clinical Team. We are a fast-growing nonprofit organization who works to provide support for children, youth, and families in our community. The Community Education Specialist’s primary responsibility is to provide group services, psychoeducation, case management, behavioral health rehabilitative services, coaching, mentoring, and other services as qualified and needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Gather intake information on referrals. Interview client and/or guardian and assess each client to include a psychological, social and educational perspective as appropriate for group participation, educational, and CARS clients.

2. Complete all required paperwork to include obtaining signed parental permission for clinical client.

3. Implement service plan and assist client with achieving treatment goals.

4. Prepare and schedule staffing on each client as needed.

5. Maintain accurate case files on each client; including progress notes, service plans, and assessment forms.

6. Provide youth advocacy, tutoring, mentoring, case management, and behavioral rehab services on a group, individual, and family level.

7. Assume the responsibility for personal development keeping updated on current knowledge, research, and techniques.

8. Attend required workshops relevant to job description and complete required continuing education.

9. Attend agency staff meetings and consultation as directed.

10. Provide flexibility of schedule and location to accommodate clients as needed for their appointments in alignment with agency policy.

11. If sessions are conducted on school property, do so under the direction and cooperation of the school staff in a manner that will not interfere with other major scholastic activities and classes.

12. Maintain client confidentiality at all times to include case files, phone records, verbal communication and all information.

13. Arrange schedule in order to deliver an ideal of 50% hours of direct client services per month. Variances in this number must be approved by the Clinical Coordinator or Operations Director.

14. Attend speaking engagements to represent and educate the community regarding agency and clinical services as needed.

15. Provide travel to clients as a matter of agency business only.

Minimum Qualifications

•Experience completing comprehensive intakes

•Ability to effective speak in small or large-group settings

•Experience providing referral, advocacy, and case management services

•Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field Required

•CMII Certificate preferred or ability to acquire

Short-Term Family Solutions

Parents in Canadian County may utilize the Caring Center Emergency Shelter for up to 48 hours in a crisis situation. This can often provide the parent and child with the critical time they need to de-escalate and gain a new perspective on a difficult situation.

Emergency Shelter

Our Caring Center Emergency Shelter provides short-term care in a family like setting for children ages 0-18. On average, the Caring Center supports 100 children each year. These children are offered a place of safety during uncertain and turbulent times. Additionally, counseling services within Youth & Family Services, Inc. may be accessed as necessary, making a difference in assisting these children on their path to healing and recovery.  We are also a designated runaway Basic Center. The Caring Center offers a homelike setting, with plenty of recreational opportunities, in a healthy environment.

Transitional Living

The Transitional Living Program provides services for young adults between the ages of 16 – 21 who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, including pregnant and young adult parents with their children. The program provides counseling, life skills, education, and mentoring to enable young adults to become more self-sufficient.

 

25 young adults were served through the Transitional Living Programs this past year, and provided with supportive services and long-term housing (18 months). 118 young adults received short-term support including groceries, clothing, transportation, utilities, rent, deposits, mentoring, counseling, life skill classes, and referrals.

Street Outreach

The Street Outreach program provides help for homeless teens and young adults who may not be ready for the structure of a live-in program. Street Outreach provides a place to get a meal, do laundry, take a shower or access a computer.

Outreach Counseling

Outreach counselors move from school to school reaching children and adolescents in three counties with crisis intervention, individual counseling, group counseling, and educational programs. Behavior management consultation is also made available to school personnel. 

 

The Journey of Hope program uses a youth-centered, strengths-based approach to provide young people with positive resources to understand and cope with emotions caused by traumatic situations in a group setting. This program gives young people the opportunity to normalize their emotions and develop positive coping strategies through cooperative play, creative arts and literature.
