Love A Baby Diaper Drive 2016

Throughout February, Youth & Family Services, Inc. (YFS) of Canadian, Blaine, and Kingfisher Counties will be working to collect at least 800 packages of diapers to help support babies within their care. The collection of diapers is part of the Love A Baby Diaper Drive, an annual drive to meet a critical need for diapers among children being served by the charity.

YFS is looking for community partners to sponsor the diaper drive within their businesses, organizations, and churches. Diapers collected will assist children within some of YFS’ most influential programs – foster care, emergency shelter, and transitional living.

Currently, over 60% of children being served within the YFS foster care program are in diapers. “The cost of diapers can be an enormous burden on foster families,” says Melissa Larimore, YFS Foster Care Director, “It’s a relief to supply diapers to foster families as they provide loving, supportive homes to children in need.”

“Diapers are a basic need for all babies,” says John Schneider, YFS Assistant Director, “As a prevention agency, our focus is to intervene as early as we can to help the children of our communities have the tools they need for a successful future.”

For anyone interested in participating, YFS will provide diaper drop boxes for any organization willing to sponsor the drive. Additionally, diapers may be delivered to the YFS main office at 7565 E. Hwy 66, El Reno, OK 73036. For more information, please contact Cindi Turner, YFS Friends Coordinator, at (405) 262-6555.
